A special post for Villagecryer !

We just had a family reunion and my brother showed us a coffee table book he made with Snapfish .
He did a day trip to Uluru from Alice Springs (dead heart of Oz).
The tour departs at 5.30am and gets back to the Alice at 10.30pm, the tour company bills it as the longest day tour itw.
My brother walked right around the base, but never got to climb it for two reasons...it is a sacred site to the local aboriginal tribes; and climbing is forbidden when temps are over 30*C. It is around 200m (600ft) high and from the grain of the layers, is actually a single rock standing vertically on end.
It photographs beautifully, with different colours at different times of the day.
But it's a bloody long way from anywhere!
There are better pics on the net, but these are the dinkum article.

Perhaps worth to mention - the Uluru is magnetic and skewing all metal compass gear. Have been there too years ago - camping!

It cost him an arm and a leg btw.

I don't doubt it. Looks like heavy gauge high gloss paper. I like the contrast with the black background pages. Goes well with the yellow cover.

My grandfather was one of those 'shutter bugs'. That was back before there was auto light sensors and stability control. He had a 35mm Pentax with a bunch of lens's for it. Like your brother, every time something of interest happened, everything came to a screeching halt. Out came the tripod, and the light meter. Had to pick just the right lens. What a pain. But he did take some fantastic photos.

If Tnlgg has identified carbonhalo from the lineup in that photo, perhaps he can pick LoneWolf from this one.
I reckon LW is the mellow one in the middle.

Not (yet) available for download from Crymods.net. Find it at Amphibian MODS. Or learn to read German, and register at farcry-games.de to download.

There is a bit of combat, bit of destructible stuff, and then the fun begins.
Don't try it on a full stomach though, or if you're scared of heights!
I haven't made it around the loop yet, but I've managed some pretty spectacular jumps!

If you have a spare hour, this is a heap of fun!

----oooOooo----

btw The Pic of the Week there is teh topless Val. Firm and fully packed, lol.
Shown here in low res to protect our ..ah.. modesty.

What's on when not playing FarCry ?
Today I'm having a look at the Wollombi Scarecrow Festival , a couple of hours drive away through a beautiful part of our countryside. Might get a few good pics.

On the way is the Cessnock Showground Arena/ Hunter District Arms Fair Expo.
By our local standards, it's a very big deal!
I might get to fire a few angry shots at the air-rifle display lol and chat to a few real life hunting types.

Isn't the stunt map part of the vehicles-pack-MOD?
Intresting MOD just for exploration, MP is tricky with only 2 players, 'cause the maps are quite big for that and seems that the vehicles don't respawn, but I'm NOT sure about that all....

There is a pub-festival in our town tonight, VET, but I'll stay at home, no really good bands, mostly rock-cover-bands. I'm mored into electronic music...

Here is one of the scarecrows, lol. Pretty scary hey!

This was lunch stop at the pub. Had to share with a bunch of Harley, BMW and dirt bike riders. Ouch!

Thanks to vc and shroomman I got multiplayer working...after wondering about it for five years.
My friend is not happy. She didn't like the blue outfit, or the male body. She didn't like getting killed fifty times.
I think my multiplayer days are already over.

I told you to give your friends a chance...
Its no fun dieing 20 times and not being able to have a chance of killing the opponent.
You have to play with them, make a handycap (try to just slice them with the knife, put the MP5 on singleshot (thats realy fun makes them run ). CTF is fun 1v1. don't give up multiplayer so soon. Or try playing Coop, thats really fun , if you don't have a rambo as a friend rousing up the mercs...

besides you can change your outfit in the options menue, the grunt-skin isn't so pretty after all

Thanks shroomman I will ask for capture the flag IF there is a next time. Those pics are really embarrassing I might post some of my own, like VET doing karaoke after a few drinks, or in the spa with runny mascara after a few drinks.
And it was more like 5-nil. not 50!

How unfair of VET using El as a prime target... but releasing cruel photos isn't the solution
... or does anybody want to see these pics of VET...
... thinking of it ... make them public at once

This is too big a post for chatbox so I will put it here.

If you are concerned about mods and editing read on. Otherwise don't waste your time and go straight to the link at the bottom if you have a few minutes to kill and like carpentry tools.

My sacking as a moderator has been called for.
I will regretfully step down if this will bring harmony back to the forum.
I am happy enough to be a plain old member here, and just enjoy the game and the company.
I see the moderator role as maintaining harmony and protecting members from flame
posts. I'm not having a lot of success.

I have been repeatedly accused of editing members' posts. I will not name the accuser as this should be a private matter between he and I, but I am unable to contact him privately via PM.

As other members would probably like some clarification regarding editing by mods,
I would like to state the record straight.

The only posts I have edited have been with the knowledge of the members concerned. This has mainly involved editing the formatting of titles in the "Featured Downloads" thread.
I have requested one (1) member to self edit a post which was a flame attack on another member, and he did so. He seems to have forgotten this and thinks I did it for him. Not so.

I have deliberately distanced myself from editing this person's posts, as there is
a personal involvement. I did however request on the staff forum that his posts be
edited, and in fact the whole GOTS2 thread be edited to keep it friendly and unbroken.

Members can rest assured their posts will not be unnecessarily edited. In the
unlikely event that a post must be edited, I will advise the person by PM.
If I do make an edit, I will add "Edited my a moderator" in red capitals.
In the more likely event of a flame post directed at me I will depend on other mods
to deal with it.

I hope that ends it once and for all.

I think all in all you are making a good job as moderator. Editing posts is censorship, so some people don't approve you doing it!
On the other hand insulting people in threads is a bad habbit.
So do you ignore such insults, or do you censor them??
What about putting the "insulting" words in translucent color. so that only will be half censored?? People wanting to be insulted can still read the stuff if they want to. IMHO there where no insults apart from "So sorry MA'AM!!"
You are certainly a Miss

so I'll sing to you

give peace a chance la la

& peace

In participating on this website, I have always relied on the rules set forth by the site owner:
http://crymods.net/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?7.post

I interpret one person’s right to say whatever they want ends where another person’s right not to be deliberately insulted and harassed begins. If these things are allowed as a matter of policy, then we should all know it up front in order to correctly evaluate our membership.
