| Description | Breakthrough is a single player custom level for the original Far Cry game. The map is my first effort and is ambitiously large and quite a long, varied and difficult level. Due to limitations on my pc I was only able to render the graphics at a lower level than normal, this does not really seem to matter too much but may be the reason why distant objects are sometimes not visible. So don't be deceived by the small file size. | ||

Interesting map with varied gameplay. Enjoyed it,but can't figure out how to succeed with the final objective without destroying myself. Guess I need a hint with this one. |

This is Chimella's first map, and had a sequel called "Arena". Quite an enjoyable map with some interesting features. First, there is not a single piece of vegetation, no grass, no trees...nothing. Secondly there is an interesting area on the plateau with enemies shrouded in fog. *SPOILERS* After leaving the first small island, go to the right side of the large island and proceed in an anti-clockwise direction. Otherwise game is either impossibly difficult or will be over too soon. There is a small puzzle involving the forklift truck to get out of the trigen area. In the foggy area go SW to make all kills. *MAJOR SPOILER - ENDING* . . . . I emailed Chimella for help with the ending and this is his reply: "The meerc with the machete is the Architect. He is indestructible. You must stop his plans by blowing up his chemical weapons. Just kill the guards and then ignore him. Plant the bomb, run up the steps, go right at the top, jump down by the fence and run forwards to avoid the explosions behind. I thought it was a fun map to play, lots of sniper action. Glad there was no vegetation that the mercs could hide in. |

The Russians still make some mods/maps for FC, but look how crap it is. There are a few links below the video where you can download it, but I don't recommend it.
